The entrance lobbies comprised of concrete and steel frame with structural frameless safety glass and associated landscaping works to produce contemporary entrances to the blocks. One of the new lobbies had to be constructed above an electrical sub station with the vents integrated the frame. The roofs were constructed using a steel framework and we then had to form a composite plywood structural panel for the deck which was clad in code 6 lead.

Project: The Cut
Client: The New Cut Housing Co-op
Architect: Southbank Architects

External works to form a landscaped raised brickwork walkway with stainless steel and oak balustrading. Forming of bin stores and provision of washing facilities. External decorations to revive the appearance of the building.

Project: Hanbury Street
Client: Wieden + Kennedy
Architect: Brown and Pletts

Description:
The construction of a single storey rooftop extension and associated works to provide an open plan office space, toilet facilities, meeting room and kitchen areas. The scheme included raised access flooring to the entire area with floor boxes and data cabling.

In order to fortify the green credentials of the client, photovoltaic roof panels were also installed and there was a provision for natural ventilation. The large glazed walls became an issue when the firm supplying them went into liquidation, but alternatives were found and the building completed for occupation by the client on the date they required it. Externally there was a hardwood deck with structural glass balustrading to the perimeter.

During the construction of the extension the remaining parts of the building remained in use. Strengthening work had to be done to the existing concrete frame in order to facilitate the build.
